    For email communication we are use email server. Usually two services provide email server.

    Two protocols are used for E-mail server.

  4. What is SMTP?

    SMTP is short for Simple Mail Transfer Protocol. This protocol deals with all Internal mail, and provides the necessary mail delivery services on the TCP/IP protocol stack.

  5. POP3 & SMTP port Number?

    POP3 protocol works on two ports:


    • Port 110 - this is the default POP3 non-encrypted port

    • Port 995 - this is the port you need to use if you want to connect using POP3 securely SMTP protocol works on three ports:

    • Port 25 - this is the default SMTP non-encrypted port

    • Port 465 - this is the port used if you want to send messages using SMTP securely


  6. What is Mdaemon?

    Mdaemon Email Server is an email server application with groupware functions for Microsoft Windows, first released by Alt-N Technologies in 1996.

  1. Server IP & Domain Setup: Setup>primary Domain




  2. Disabled Strong Password:

Setup>Miscellaneous Option> Miscellaneous> Require Strong Password (Untick)


3: User ID Created: Accounts>Account Manager/New Account > New

4: User ID Delete/Remove: Accounts>Account Manager> Select ID>Delete


5: User ID Backup/Export: Accounts>Exporting>Export Accounts to a common delimited file



6: User ID Import: Accounts>importing


User Side Configuration & Check:
